A most wonderful way to celebrate the new year! We decided to stay over the new year so we didn’t have to worry about driving. You get a discount for booking the party and accommodation . We had lovely rooms and were able to put on our party finery at leisure and then meet in the bar. The party was so well organised with all the hats and blowers you could wish for. Not cheap rubbish either. We had a fabulous carvery meal which was properly seasoned and cooked . 3 delicious meats and all the fresh veg beautifully prepared. Seatrees cans were perfect and we had a brilliant time. The couple at the next table got engaged. Best of luck to them both. The next morning all the confetti had been cleared away and we had a first class breakfast. Thankyou to all the staff for giving up your time to give us a wonderful evening. 20/10 stars!!!

We stayed at this hotel for one night on our way to our holiday in Devon, we stayed with our dog and we stayed in a garden annex room and it was amazing.

The views from the back garden are lovely, the staff and friendly and helpful and the food from the hotel is lovely.

We have already looked into booking another stay at this hotel but for longer so we can enjoy the surrounding areas.

Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay here and we will definitely be back again.

We only ended up here because we could not find the restaurant we meant to have lunch at. Anyway, very glad we did have lunch at the Shrubbery. The roast beef was so good. Meat was perfectly cooked, crispy roast potatoes, nice and varied vegetables. Good size portion and incredibly good value for the quality of food. Sat outside in the sun, so even better.

We got married at this hotel 20 years ago and decided to go back and stay for our anniversary. We got upgraded to a suite on arrival which was absolutely amazing! And so so generous. The room was amazing! Room 28! We literally didn’t want to leave the room because it was so luxurious. The staff were so friendly and talked with us about our special day amongst other subjects including the history of the building. We honestly had such a nice time and couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Thank you just doesn’t seem enough to all the staff working that weekend! Evening meal was fantastic and breakfast was just as good! Highly recommended to anyone wanting to book in the south west!

Restaurant and customer service excellent.

Due to illness we were unable to go to the NYE party last year and hotel provided a credit note to the value.  Excellent communication of emails with customer service staff member Sandra G.   We had a meal yesterday with family and food was hot and good quality, recommend the Salmon Alfredo. Babs the waitress was very helpful and accommodating. The hotel grounds and interior was a good standard, parking available. I would like to say Thank you to Sandra and hope to visit again.
