Wedding Terms and Conditions

Please reference your name and date of wedding when making payment. 

Wedding Deposit and Payments

Once you have decided on a date: You can protect your date for 48 hours while you take some time to think. After the non-obligation 48 hours we can confirm the release of the date or you confirm your wedding with us by placing a non-refundable deposit payment of £950.

• A written / email confirmation to secure your date will be required
• 50% of the total cost is required 3 months prior to the event
• Confirmed numbers, menu choices, and final details are due 1 month prior to your special day along with remaining balance settled.
• Any adjustment in numbers following this date may be charged at the hotel’s discretion. 
• Interest per month will be charged on any overdue amounts. 

The return of a deposit upon cancellation will depend on the ability of the hotel to resell the facilities and remains at the Manager’s discretion. Refunds are not guaranteed for any bookings at The Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster

Accommodation Releases 

Once the provisional booking has been confirmed, all rooms you may require will be reserved for your guests and then released to the public domain 8 weeks prior to the event any of those which have not been booked by your guests, if subsequently required, will have to be rebooked by the agent/operator on a request basis. 

Cancellations, Insurance & Liability

If you do wish to cancel your event, all refunds are at the Manager’s discretion. Refunds are not guaranteed for any bookings at The Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster. The management reserve the right to charge for damage to Shrubbery Hotel property and amend prices and facilities at their discretion.

• We advise to take out private wedding insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances and charges that may be incurred or if the event must be cancelled.
• The hotel is not able to accept any liability for the loss or damage to any property owned by or in the possession of the client whilst that person is on the hotel premises.
• The client Is liable to pay for any damage to the hotel premises or its fixture and fittings or equipment caused by the client, a guest or sub-contractor working on behalf of the client
• Menu items and seasonal availability may change due to unforeseen circumstances such as market conditions or weather. In such rare circumstances we reserve the right to substitute a dish for equal or greater value.
